Description
Maturanum white wine produced on a farm in Frosinone. The vine plants from which the grapes are harvested are grown on the land of the same farm.
The Maturano grape is an ancient native Lazio grape, originally from the Val di Comino, recently rediscovered, registered in the National Register of wine grape varieties in 2010, together with the white Pampanaro grape.
These vines were recovered thanks to a project of Arsial (Regional Agency for the Development and Innovation of Agriculture in Lazio), aimed at identifying the most qualified clones for vines already registered in the regional register of wine grape varieties, to bring out its distinctive elements and allow its development in the territory. So little is known about this vine and very few producers offer it.
Consistent acidic structure of the grape, the wine is characterized by pronounced greenish reflections typical of the grape and, therefore, of the cultivar, an important and characterizing floral, spicy and citrus scent, good structure, overall a prominent typicality is highlighted. The presence of phenyl ethanol in significant quantities gives a hint of rose resulting from the composition of the grape as regards the amino acid and structural composition.
